To help launch Nike’s West Indian Day Parade-inspired Air Force One and Air Max 95, we invited jerk chicken chef C Marty Mar to serve hot plates, Island Pop to come through with West Indian-inspired flavors, and a coconut vendor! Soca legend Lyrikal, dancehall artist Ricky Blaze, and members of Sesame Carnival performed live with the Fete Masters curating the party.
It was a celebration of Caribbean culture on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn leading up to the Labor Day Parade. A visiting Nike executive called it, “Too authentic for Nike!”
